Michael O'Brien is a counselor, Founder and President of Fusion Recovery, Inc. As Founder of Fusion Recovery, he is certified to provide addiction counseling in the State of California, he is a graduate of Bethany University’s Addiction Counseling program, and has earned the following credentials: Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC), Registered Addiction Specialist (RAS), Forensic Addiction Counselor (FAC), Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) and is a Certified Clinical Supervisor (CSC). He is also a Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC I). He has served as the Director of Rehabilitation for one of nation's largest addiction treatment providers, and has provided consulting services for other treatment centers and professionals. He is a member of the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), the Addiction Professional Association of California (APAC), and the California Association for Alcohol/Drug Educators (CAADE).
Ernie Chu is the Clinical Director of Fusion Recovery and is a licensed marriage and family therapist with the State of California. He earned his Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from The Wharton School and a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Ernie has a tremendous amount of counseling experience through organizations in Silicon Valley including El Camino Hospital, and The Bill Wilson Center. Dr. Starr is an authority in the field of Addiction Medicine and Wellness. Since founding an addiction clinic in 2012 after the overdose death of his brother, he has been committed to helping patients achieve lasting sobriety and improve the quality of their lives. Dr. Starr is board certified in both Addiction Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Dr. Starr is currently on staff at Sierra Vista and Twin Cities Hospital and is working closely with Dignity Health to improve the care of patients who could benefit from Addiction Medicine specialty care. Michael Nolan is the Program Director and a counselor who works with clients individually, facilitates group counseling and assesses clients during the admissions process. He is a graduate of Bethany University’s Addiction Counseling Program and is certified to provide counseling both in the State of California (CADC II) and holds a national credential (NCAC I) as well. Michael has extensive experience working in a variety of quality treatment settings since 2009 with clients from a diverse set of backgrounds. Greg Vorst is the IOP Coordinator for Fusion Recovery and is a marriage and family therapist intern with the State of California. He earned his Master's Degree in Counseling and Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Southern California. Greg has a tremendous amount of counseling experience through organizations in California related to substance abuse, he also has extensive experience as a volunteer helping youth in various programs. Greg is a Sundo Instructor, an ancient Korean Taoist Yoga and Chi Gong practice. Greg has a passion for helping others and it shows in his daily work with our IOP clients.
Amy Dunniway is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the State of California. She earned her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at the University of Houston at Clear Lake and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation, Parks and Tourism from Texas A&M University. She has extensive experience in counseling and case management with adolescents, families and individuals. Amy facilitates the Women's Group at Fusion Recovery and sees individual clients as well. She is an animal lover, owns and trains horses and volunteers for the homeless outside of her work here at Fusion Recovery.
Jill Garcia is a dually licensed marriage and family therapist and professional clinical counselor with the state of California. She holds a Masters Degree from Santa Clara University in counseling psychology and a Bachelors Degree from San Jose State University in psychology. She has worked therapeutically in community-based, school-based, and private practice settings. She works collaboratively with clients struggling with issues related to dual diagnosis, family dynamics, trauma, and relationship dysfunction. She utilizes an integrative approach including psychodynamic, behavioral, and family systems foundations. She is a member of CAMFT and CALPCC. Debbie Clarke is the Admissions Counselor for Fusion Recovery, Inc. She is certified to provide addiction counseling in the State of California, and is a graduate of Bethany University’s Addiction Counseling program. She currently holds the Certified Addictions Treatment Counselor (CATC) credential. She has over 6 years and 12,000 hours of experience in counseling, assessment and program management. She has served a diverse range of clients and takes great care in assessing clients to ensure they receive the services that will benefit them the most. Kyczy Hawk RYT E-500 is a yoga teacher and author. She teaches in treatment centers as well as yoga studios in her hometown of San Jose, CA. She has been a space holder for the internationally known Y12SR (Yoga of Twelve Step Recovery) for over five years. Kyczy specializes in incorporating somatic yoga techniques, a specific yoga style designed to bring attention to parts of the body from which we may have become disconnected due to such things such as repetitive stress, accidents, illnesses and injuries. This increased awareness can promote impulse control and provide tools in preventing anxiety. These yoga techniques are ideal for people recovering from addictions as reintegrating sensory awareness with choice and thought patterns support other healing modalities. In 2014 she worked again for Niroga serving on the adjunct staff teaching Yoga and Addiction Recovery for the Therapeutic Yoga teacher training. She has published several books including “Yoga and the Twelve Step Path” 2012 and “Life in Bite Sized Morsels”, 2015. She is a contributor to national and international magazines (I Love Recovery Cafe, Yoga Times, 12 Step Gazette, OM Magazine and Indigo International, among others.) Loki Doan is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Medical Qigong Practitioner. He holds a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine and a Master's in Medical Qigong. His approach to health and healing focuses on the whole person and he understands the importance of integrating the physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects in the recovery process. Matt Kitto is the Program Assistant at Fusion Recovery, Inc., it is arguably one of the toughest jobs at our center. Matt is a graduate of William Jessup University’s Addiction Counseling program, and is currently a Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician (RADT). He is currently accruing internship hours to become a certified addiction counselor. Matt's outgoing and friendly attitude will always cheer you up and greet you with a smile.
Dr. Tsou is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in pediatric neuropsychology, which focuses on brain-behavior relationships. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California at Berkeley and her Doctorate in Psychology (Psy.D.) at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University. Dr. Tsou provides evaluations to determine how an individual's brain functions may affect a his or her thinking skills, behaviors, emotions and academic performance. Clients who benefit from her evaluations include those who have a medical condition or medical injury, developmental disabilities, learning differences and/or emotional or behavioral challenges. Dr. Tsou worked as a staff pediatric neuropsychologist for eleven years at a large local healthcare organization. Dr. Tsou's primary responsibilities included providing neuropsychological evaluations to adolescents and adults. Jeffrey Chen, is a Board Certified Child, Adolescent and General Psychiatrist. He completed his undergraduate and medical school training at Northwestern University in Chicago. He entered a general psychiatry residency at Emory University in Atlanta, and his experiences there led him to pursue a child and adolescent fellowship. He completed his child and adolescent psychiatry training at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. He has experience working in various treatment environments, including inpatient, residential and forensic settings, but he was especially drawn to outpatient work as it allowed him to form the most therapeutic relationships with patients and their families. Some of his areas of expertise include Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, OCD and Bipolar. He also works with individuals looking to maximize social, academic and life skills. His treatment modalities include both therapy and pharmacological management, and he strives to involve families during the process to optimize results and create collaborative relationships. As Chief Joy Officer (CJO), Bullet's responsibilities include comforting clients and looking adorable. His strengths include helping clients who are having a bad day smile, lifting client’s spirits, and providing hope and laughter.
